#Registered Clinical Counsellor Thomas is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors and holds a Master of Counselling degree. His combined education and experience gives him a deep understanding of the connection between physical and mental health. In his work at Seva, Thomas’ focus is on supporting clients in navigating the emotional effects of physical injuries, chronic pain and the rehabilitation process. Thomas is trained in a number of research-based approaches to therapy such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Narrative Therapy. His primary approach is strengths-based and solution-focused. His goal is to help you create the change you want for your life. Thomas' previous experience includes crisis support for individuals facing acute stress. His expertise in grief and loss allows him to provide compassionate support to those grieving, embracing their resilience in the face of difficult circumstances. In addition to his counselling experience, Thomas has considerable experience coaching athletes. For those navigating the challenges of returning to sports from an injury, especially when it comes to self-confidence, anxiety and fear, Thomas knows this challenge intimately and can support you in your return to play. Furthermore, Thomas has spent significant time mentoring those in leadership roles and understands the pressures of returning to a leadership position when you’re adjusting to a new normal - be it physically, emotionally or mentally. Outside of work, Thomas spends his time watching and playing all sports (especially basketball and football), and obsessing over Star Trek and Magic: The Gathering. Thomas offers counselling both virtually and in-person at a separate, private counselling space located at 108-2078 West 4th Avenue.
