About Trina
Not Taking New Clients
I am passionate about supporting individuals as they explore their personal histories, navigate current challenges, and move through life’s transitions.
I bring an open, compassionate, and trauma-informed approach to therapy, creating a safe and supportive space where people can feel seen, heard, and understood. I believe that everyone has strengths and the capacity for growth, self-compassion, and resilience—even in the face of difficult or overwhelming experiences. While change can feel daunting, with the right support and guidance, it is possible to gain clarity, develop practical tools, and move through life’s challenges with greater confidence, stability, and hope.
Areas of Focus:
Anxiety, Depression, & ADHD: I understand firsthand how challenging it can be to live with anxiety, low mood, and ADHD. With supportive guidance and practical skill-building, it is possible to move beyond simply coping and toward a more fulfilling, balanced life. My work integrates evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioural strategies, nervous system regulation, mindfulness, emotional regulation skills, and strengths-based planning to support meaningful and sustainable change.
Attachment & Trauma: Early relationships and overwhelming experiences often shape how we cope, connect, and experience distress in the present. I offer a safe, compassionate space to explore these patterns with curiosity and care, working at a pace that respects both the nervous system and lived experience. Through this process, clients can develop greater self-awareness, heal attachment wounds, strengthen emotional regulation, and cultivate more secure, nurturing relationships with themselves and others.
Women’s Mental Health (Perinatal, Perimenopause, & Menopause): These significant life stages are often under-acknowledged and under-supported, despite their profound emotional and psychological impact. I provide a compassionate, informed space to explore the mood changes, anxiety, grief, identity shifts, and relationship changes that can accompany these transitions. Through psycho-education, emotional regulation strategies, validation of lived experience, and the cultivation of self-compassion and empowerment, I support women in making sense of their experiences and navigating these transitions with greater confidence and care.
Stress, Burnout, & Life Transitions: Many people today are living under sustained pressure—balancing rising costs of living, demanding work schedules, limited support, parenting responsibilities, and care for aging family members. Counselling can offer a valuable space to slow down, reflect, and make sense of what feels overwhelming or unsustainable. Using practical tools such as stress management, nervous system regulation, boundary setting, and values-based work, I support individuals in restoring balance, preventing burnout, and navigating change with greater clarity and intention.
Therapeutic Approaches: Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Practices.
Specializations: Anxiety, Depression, Grief and Loss, ADHD, Trauma, Attachment, Mood Disorders, Self-Esteem, Relationship Challenges, Women’s Mental Health, Stress, Burnout, Post-Secondary and Career Decisions, and Life Transitions.
Populations: Providing therapy in Langford BC for Youth (13+), Adults, Parents.
Education & Experience: I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Northern British Columbia. I bring nearly twenty years of experience working within the public school system with children, youth, and families, including eight years as a school counsellor. My practicum was completed through a non-profit child and youth mental health agency.
I am currently completing the Canadian Certificate in Perinatal Mental Health Training and have participated in multiple professional workshops focused on perimenopause and menopause. By August 2026, I will have completed a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Certificate with a focus on reproductive mental health across the lifespan. I have also pursued ongoing professional development in trauma, suicide risk assessment, family systems, CBT, DBT, grief and loss, anxiety and mood disorders, eating disorders, and substance use.
Beyond the Work: Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children and prioritize activities that support my well-being, including yoga and time in nature. I value learning, music, travel, and meaningful connection with friends. I am deeply committed to ongoing professional and personal growth and view new experiences as opportunities to broaden perspective, stay grounded, and bring greater depth and presence to both my work and my life.
