About Wanda
Wanda brings an optimistic, strength-based approach to her practice which is grounded in a deep passion, dedication, and respect for the innate wisdom of those she supports. She prioritizes genuine care, working collaboratively to discover approaches that are both meaningful and effective for each person’s unique needs.
Her professional experience spans working alongside children and youth, their parents, and adults with a variety of neurodiversities in settings such as daycares, preschools, elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as with undergraduate and graduate university students. She has also worked with the Ministry for Children and Family Development in Duncan and Victoria, and served as a person-centred crisis intervention telephone support worker.
Wanda’s focus areas are as diverse as the unique clients she supports. She especially enjoys working with children ages 4–12, including those who have experienced trauma, anxiety, shame, separation anxiety, attachment challenges, autism spectrum disorder, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder, ADHD, selective mutism, anger, or other behavioural or relationship difficulties. Her work fosters each child’s connection to their sense of self and the world around them.
With children, youth, parents, adults, and couples, Wanda’s approach is optimism-based, strength-based, attachment-based, and informed by resilience and trauma research. Her work is grounded in acceptance, empathy, cultural humility, and creating a safe space for individuals to explore who they are and who they aspire to become.
In her work with couples, Wanda supports the building of strong, healthy relationships by fostering mutual fondness and admiration, constructive conflict management, and the creation of shared meaning together.
