Wayne’s approach is warm and collaborative, and informed by evidence-based practices. In his work, Wayne strives to create an environment wherein his clients feel safe, accepted, and understood. Wayne has worked with clients from diverse backgrounds and has helped his clients to address a wide range of clinical issues and concerns. Wayne’s principal areas of clinical focus include trauma (i.e., posttraumatic stress disorder), anxiety and depression. Wayne also has experience working with clients who have a chronic pain condition, and supports clients as they navigate the complexities of recovering from physical or psychological injuries. Although Wayne utilizes a variety of techniques, he works primarily from a cognitive-behavioural model, which emphasizes the interconnection between thoughts, emotion, and behaviour. Having experienced personal injury and trauma, Wayne is highly motivated to help his clients along their wellness journeys. In particular, Wayne helps his clients with emotional processing, identifying and addressing maladaptive thinking patterns, developing grounding techniques, and reintegrate the mind and body. Wayne is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and a member of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. He graduated from Adler University in 2015, where he received his Master’s in Counselling Psychology. He has also undergone additional training in Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma. Prior to commencing with his graduate-level work, Wayne completed a Bachelor of Arts – with First Class Honours – in Psychology at Simon Fraser University.Read more about WayneShow less
