Symptômes d’étourdissements, vertiges, instabilité, maux de tête, trouble de la vision (image
rebondissante, rotation de la pièce, difficulté à supporter une lumière vive, difficulté à regarder un
écran), troubles de l'équilibre, douleurs cervicales associées, nausées ou vomissements.
Le patient peut avoir eu un accident de voiture, subi un traumatisme crânien léger ou une commotion
cérébrale, une infection récente de l'oreille, un accident de sport, ou une cause inconnue.
Conditions :
- VPPB
- Après neuronite/labyrinthite (infection de l’oreille interne)
- E3P (Étourdissements posturaux-perceptifs persistants) – étourdissement et instabilité ++
- Migraine vestibulaire
- Maladie de Ménière
- Post-traumatisme (contusion/destruction du labyrinthe)
- Fistule péri lymphatique
- Étourdissements et céphalées cervico-géniques (associées a des douleurs cervicales)
- Commotion cérébrale
Patient profile:
Symptoms of dizziness/vertigo/unsteadiness, headache, vision problems (bouncing image, room
spinning, difficulty with bright light, difficulty looking at screens), balance problems, associated neck
pain, nausea/vomiting, ringing in the ear.
Patient may have had a car accident, sustained a light head trauma or concussion, recent ear infection,
sport accident, or dizziness/vertigo with no explanation.
Conditions:
- BPPV
- After a neuronitis/labyrinthitis (inner ear infection)
- 3PD (Persistent postural perceptual dizziness) – dizziness and instability ++
- Vestibular migraine
- Meniere’s disease
- Post-trauma (labyrinth contusion/destruction)
- Peri lymphatic fistula
- Cervicogenic dizziness (dizziness with associated neck pain)
- Concussion
Evaluation (60 mins) includes tests for eye movement function, balance, and positional provocation
maneuvers. These tests will help identify the origin of the symptoms and guide the treatment plan.
Treatment starts the same day as the evaluation and may include visual exercises, balance exercises,
repositioning maneuvers, or manual therapy. Follow-up treatments (30 mins) include a selection or
combination of exercises progression, maneuvers, or manual therapy.
