Cupping therapy is a form of alternative medicine in which a local suction is created on the skin with the application of plastic, silicone or glass cups. This technique helps separate the layers of connective tissue known as fascia. This technique has an ability to affect the deeper tissue, remove restrictions, breakdown scar tissue, ease pain, improve blood flow and improve range of motion. This modality works well on the back.

Most of the appointment is spent mapping out what’s going on in your body and choosing points, then resting with fine needles in place for a stretch — sometimes with heat, cups or electrical stimulation — and you leave with a sense of what was treated and whether more sessions make sense.
