Reflexology
Reflexology is the application of pressure to specific points and areas on the feet. These areas and reflex points correspond to different body organs, bones and body systems within the body. Pressing these areas has a beneficial effect on these organs and bones as well as a person's general health.
Reflexology is not used to diagnose or cure conditions but can be used to help treat illness and to help relieve tension and stress. It is especially complimentary with other treatment modalities such as Massage Therapy, Acupuncture and Chiropractic.
A complete foot reflexology treatment takes between 45 and 60 minutes.
Usual reactions from a session may include feeling a sense of lightness and tingling in the body, a feeling of warmth throughout the body and a feeling or relaxation.
Other reactions can include perspiration of hands or feet, the sensation of being cold or chilled, feeling light-headed, sleepiness, coughing, crying, laughing and rarely some muscle tenderness.
