Sports Active Release Massage is a specialized, hands-on technique used to treat soft tissue injuries often experienced by athletes and active individuals. It combines deep tissue massage with precise movement-based therapy to target adhesions (knots), scar tissue, and tightness in muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves.
During treatment, the therapist uses their hands to evaluate the texture, tightness, and movement of the soft tissues. Once a problem area is identified, they apply pressure while guiding the client through specific movements to “release” tension and break up adhesions. This technique restores proper function, improves range of motion, reduces pain, and helps prevent future injuries.
Sports Active Release Massage is especially effective for treating overuse conditions such as runner’s knee, tennis elbow, shoulder impingement, shin splints, and carpal tunnel syndrome. It’s frequently used both in athletic recovery and injury rehabilitation.
