Acupuncture has been shown to prepare the cervix and uterus for labour, shorten labour length and decrease the need for additional interventions. Ideally, treatments begin around weeks 36-38 and continue weekly until your due date. After this, treatments can be done every few days until baby comes!

Most of the appointment is spent mapping out what’s going on in your body and choosing points, then resting with fine needles in place for a stretch — sometimes with heat, cups or electrical stimulation — and you leave with a sense of what was treated and whether more sessions make sense.
