Prenatal Breastfeeding Education & Pump Support & Colostrum Collection
Want to be ready BEFORE baby comes? We will help you to get the best start with however you choose to feed your baby.
I will discuss lactation and supply, basics of breastfeeding and needs of the mommy-baby dyad. We will review your health history, any previous feeding experience and discuss your feeding goals, questions and concerns.
Not planning on breastfeeding or planning on combo feeding? No worries, I can help with that too! We can discuss alternative feeding options and milk supply management.
This appointment will include pumping education (purpose, type, schedule etc). If you already have a pump, you can bring it and we will learn it's use together.. I'll also assess your nipple size, to help you find the correct flange fit and shape for your body and pump. We’ll review pump settings, positioning, and troubleshoot discomfort or low output so you leave pumping with less pain and better milk removal.
Did you know there is a method of bottle-feeding that allows the baby to control the pace, reduce overfeeding, discomfort and fussiness and can improve the feeding relationship between you and your baby?
I can help with all of your pump and/or bottle-feeding questions. Together, we can create a feeding plan is right for you and your family.
