Bowen Therapy
Bowen, or Bowen Technique, is a gentle soft-tissue manipulation that consists of a series of
moves over specific muscles in the body following a set sequence.
Each move consists of a “challenge” in which a muscle and the adjacent fascia (connective
tissue) are gently pressed, followed by a “rolling” movement over the muscle belly that changes the stimulus received by the nervous system in the fascia. Through the movement of fascia and the nerves embedded within it, some Bowen moves stimulate a referred reaction in some internal organs, while other moves may activate movement of the lymphatic system with the associated drainage of toxins and/or engagement
of the immune system.
Bowen Technique is done through clothing. Please wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing
to your appointment.
