Occupational Therapy/Certified Hand Therapy Assessment
A complete understanding of the upper extremity is combined with occupational and physical therapy theory and practise in Certified Hand Therapy. Our Certified Hand Therapists (CHTs) are certified by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission and have completed extensive training in the treatment of all elbow, wrist, and hand problems.
A conservative approach may be used by CHTs to evaluate, diagnose, and treat both acute and chronic injuries as well as a number of post-surgical disorders. To alleviate your symptoms and assist you in regaining maximum function, CHTs fabricate personalised orthoses (splints) and employ a range of other therapeutic strategies.
OT/CHT services may require a doctor's prescription to be covered by extended health care plan. We encourage you to contact your insurance provider to verify your coverage.

What it is
Most of this first visit is spent figuring out how your day-to-day is being affected — talking through routines, barriers and goals, and looking at how you manage specific tasks — with less time on strategies or equipment ideas and a clear next-step plan to leave with.
