VE 911 Call

Thank you for contacting VE-911, our rapid-access vaginal estrogen program. You will be contacted briefly by a physician to review your symptoms and determine whether vaginal estrogen is appropriate for you. This appointment is specifically for vaginal estrogen treatment and does not include assessment or management of systemic hormone therapy such as estrogen patches/gels, progesterone or testosterone. You do not need to be an existing patient of our clinic to use VE-911. The program is available to eligible women in British Columbia with valid MSP coverage, and your physician appointment is MSP-covered at no cost to you. Prescription medication costs are separate and depend on your individual drug coverage. VE-911 may not be appropriate for you if you: Are pregnant or may be pregnant Have a current or previous breast cancer Have a history of an estrogen-sensitive gynecologic cancer, such as endometrial cancer, unless vaginal estrogen has already been approved by your treating specialist Have unexplained vaginal bleeding, particularly bleeding after menopause Have new or unexplained pelvic pain, a pelvic mass, significant abnormal vaginal discharge, sores or lesions Have a known allergy or serious reaction to vaginal estrogen or any ingredient in the prescribed product Have another significant medical condition that requires a more detailed assessment before estrogen treatment If any of these apply to you, please let us know. It does not necessarily mean that you can never use vaginal estrogen, but you may require a more comprehensive assessment or discussion with your usual physician or specialist first. VE-911 is designed specifically to provide timely access to vaginal estrogen for vaginal, vulvar and urinary symptoms related to low estrogen.
