A discovery call is a brief, 15 to 20-minute introductory conversation between a life coach and a potential client. Its primary purpose is to establish rapport, discuss the client’s goals and challenges, and determine if the two parties are a good mutual fit before committing to a paid coaching program.

Most of the hour is spent talking through what’s been happening, how you’ve been reacting, and what patterns keep showing up — your counsellor asks questions, reflects things back, and helps you put words to it — so you leave with a clearer sense of what came up and what to keep noticing between sessions.
