Acupuncture treatments are meant to ease chronic pain and help with other conditions such as, muscle spasms, sciatica, tennis elbow and TMJ pain. The acupuncturist will figure out what's triggering the problem and design a plan that caters to your individual requirements.
The treatment consists of inserting disposable, hair-thin needles into points at various locations of your body, along the meridian lines that are affected. This helps stimulate energy flow and restores the body's qi to a balanced state, leaving the needles in for 15-30 minutes while you relax. This balancing of body energy and re-establishment of homeostasis by removing stress can help boost your immune system, promoting optimal health.
Dr. Jennifer Liu can also perform cupping, (suction on the skin to promote circulation and extract toxins), which she'll do periodically during treatments. The number of visits recommended varies based on how well the client responds to treatments and how long they have had symptoms.
