Temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJD) refers to the disorders that may affect the jaw joint.
Common symptoms are:
Jaw tension, stiffness, pain
Clicking, grinding sounds
Jaw locking, restricted movement
Headaches.
Causes:
Jaw injuries
Bruxism ( teeth clenching/grinding)
Arthritis
Disc displacement
The muscles can be addressed externally (face) and internally (intraoral)
