MLD can be useful before and after surgery and applied directly after an injury has occurred before other treatment interventions can safely be utilized. CDT is an intensive treatment for lymphedema. Most of the hour is spent on the table in hands-on work — pressure, gliding strokes and focused work through specific muscles and connective tissue — with a brief check-in on what changed since last time and a sense of what to keep an eye on between visits.
