Follow-up physiotherapy treatment under the Refugee IFHP (Interim Federal Health Program) is designed to support refugees and refugee claimants in their recovery process after receiving an initial physiotherapy assessment. The treatment focuses on addressing musculoskeletal issues, improving functionality, and ensuring refugees are able to restore their mobility, relieve pain, and engage in their daily activities independently.
Given the unique challenges that refugees face, including previous trauma, displacement, and potential physical and emotional stress, follow-up care is essential in ensuring refugees can recover fully, regain independence, and improve their quality of life.
As of May 1, 2026, beneficiaries of the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) are responsible for 30% of the cost of eligible supplemental health services, including physiotherapy treatments. Patients are encouraged to confirm their current coverage and any out-of-pocket costs prior to booking their appointment.
