For returning clients only fire cupping can be offered in combination with acupuncture. Primarily to treat back & neck pain, stress and / or if a patient is feeling apprehensive about needles.
Treatment is explained, expectations will be discussed and when consent is confirmed, the back is cleaned and oiled. A small torch is lit and swirled inside the glass cup to burn up oxygen and create a vacuum. It is quickly removed as the cup is applied to the back directly. A negative suction, or a "pulling" sensation occurs on the skin. The cups are then moved, sliding along the strong muscles of the back and neck.
Please note that superficial redness is normal and the treatment is very gentle.
The superficial bruising from the suction can last anywhere from a few days to a week or more depending on the client.
