Perineural/Trigger point Injection Therapy
This appointment is for Injection Therapy if you have already done the assessment or you have been to Physiotherapy within the last 6months. Perineural injection therapy refers to the practice of injecting solutions (most commonly 5% dextrose) around peripheral nerves to treat neuropathic pain and a variety of other pain conditions. Trigger point injections are a minimally invasive procedure in which a needle is inserted into a myofascial trigger point (a hyper-irritable, palpable nodule within a taut band of skeletal muscle) to relieve pain. The injections usually contain dextrose and an anaesthetic solution.
