TMJ (temporomandibular joint) syndrome is a painful condition caused by a dysfunction of the jaw. Often, a misalignment combined with jaw clenching/grinding and stress can affect the efficiency of the joint. When the jaw does not function properly, pain can radiate from the jaw to the face, head, neck and shoulders. Massage is highly effective in treating the affected muscles directly and the associated symptoms. It can be performed intra-orally and externally relieving muscle tension and pain, providing stress relief and an overall release in the affected area.
