Cupping is a form of ancient therapy that uses round cups placed on the skin, then the RMT creates negative pressure through manually pumped suction that releases the connective tissues and muscles. The cups are then either dragged across or left on the affected area for several minutes. The expected outcome can leave circular bruise-like marks that will heal on their own in 5-10 days, depending on the person. This treatment can release scar tissue and fascial adhesions, increase flow of blood, lymph and energy circulation, and promote mobility and range of motion.
