This is your first appointment in the EDS & Hypermobility Pathway, a comprehensive nurse-led assessment conducted by our RPN to build a complete clinical picture before your diagnostic appointment with the Nurse Practitioner. (Part 2).
Your visit includes a review of your completed intake questionnaire, orthostatic vital sign testing (lying, sitting, and standing) to screen for POTS and dysautonomia, a Beighton Hypermobility Scale assessment, and a targeted physical examination of skin, joints, and connective tissue features. You will leave with a personalized priority-based care plan and specialist referral recommendations where indicated.

Most of this first physiotherapy visit is spent figuring out what’s driving the problem — history, movement, strength and hands-on testing — then some treatment if there’s time, and you leave with a clearer picture and a plan for what comes next.
