Gua Sha Stone Massage & Cupping
Includes a short, brief, holistic assessment addressing the patient’s complaints (15 minutes), as well as the Gua Sha Massage & Cupping (1 hour). This is a combined treatment using ancient Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) techniques of Gua Sha scraping and Cupping. This treatment is specifically for patients experiencing tight muscles, poor blood circulation, headaches, chronic inflammation, and stiffened tissues/knots. The goal of the Gua Sha Massage Treatment is to break up fascia, relax stiffened muscles and joints, promote blood circulation, and enhance tissue drainage. It is based off of ancient TCM concepts that use scraping techniques with Jade Stones and Rose Quartz scraping tools. The Gua Sha massage may be performed on the back, arms, shoulders, and/or legs. Cupping is performed on patients suffering from muscular pain, joint pain, migraines, digestive & respiratory issues, and poor circulation & drainage. The goal of Cupping is to promote blood flow to damaged areas, enhance blood circulation, relieve pain, encourage lymphatic drainage, and extract toxins from the body. Cupping consists of either using glass cups with alcohol and flame to create Fire Cupping, plastic suction cups, or silicone cups. Techniques such as Moving Cupping or Flash Cupping may be utilized. Cupping may be performed on the back, arms, shoulders, abdomen, and/or legs.
