Sessions will support your child to give form and shape to suffering by using words, drawings, play and calm acceptance. By using these tools, we hope to alleviate the feelings of fear, despair, isolation and depression, and other big feelings too. In this 30-minute Creative Arts Therapy session, your child will use words, drawings, play and even song to work through difficult feelings and gain calm. Most of the hour is spent talking through what’s been happening, how you’ve been reacting, and what patterns keep showing up — your counsellor asks questions, reflects things back, and helps you put words to it — so you leave with a clearer sense of what came up and what to keep noticing between sessions.
