Whether you have pre-existing lymphedema or a new diagnosis, or suspecting lymphedema without an official diagnosis, please book this first. Your initial appointment will include a thorough intake and health history as specifically relevant to your case and symptoms and your therapist will put together a preliminary treatment plan following this appointment. Note, an RMT is unable to provide a diagnosis but will do their best to provide a clinical impression based on the interview.
Your appointment will also include a physical assessment of your condition (which may include range of motion testing, visual examination of affected area(s), palpation, etc.) and may include taking measurements of affected limb(s) or area(s) as indicated.
If there is time left in your appointment, in consultation with you, your therapist may choose to provide a short treatment, demonstrate bandaging if applicable, and/or make necessary referrals to other medical professionals or fitters for compression garments. Assessment and confirmation of eligibility for the Authorized Devices Program (ADP) may also be included in this appointment.
A brief screening form will be sent to you prior to your appointment, to allow your therapist to better prepare for your appointment.
