Experiencing foot or heel pain? Considering buying orthotics to help relieve the pain? An orthotic is a shoe insert that supports the abnormal movement of a foot. Peak Performance Physiotherapists will thoroughly assess your lower limb and foot biomechanics to determine the materials and type of orthotic that you need. We will then do a neutral suspension cast mold of your foot. Our assessment may also include a Footmaxx evaluation to determine alterations in gait that might be imperceptible to the eye. We use Paris Orthotics as our lab manufacturer. They are award winning and leading edge in the world of foot orthotics. They are located in Vancouver and are approved by all extended providers. An orthotic for running/walking will not perform in a ski boot (alpine or nordic) or a skate as the biomechanics of the foot are different. Some extended benefit providers do not accept a physiotherapy assessment for orthotics. Please check with your provider as this changes without notice.

Most of the appointment is spent examining how your feet are built and moving — skin, nails, joints, pressure points, gait and footwear — then dealing with the immediate issue through nail or skin care, padding, strapping or offloading, and sending you out with clear next steps.
