60 minNew patientAfter the initial discussion an external examination may take place including assessment of posture, breathing, hips, pelvis and lower back function. If appropriate, and with absolute consent, an internal examination may be suggested to better assess muscle tone, tension, and coordination of structures that cannot be assessed as well externally. Although an internal exam can give the most information on your current issues, it is in no way a requirement when seeing a Physiotherapist for the pelvic floor. After the assessment part of your session your practitioner will discuss any findings, what they mean, answer any questions, and together you will create a personalized treatment plan to work towards improving your condition.
