Z-Score neurofeedback training sessions utilize up to 19 channels of brainwave monitoring to provide a dynamic, whole-brain approach to optimizing brain function. During the session, sensors placed across the scalp using an EEG Cap measure electrical activity in multiple brain regions simultaneously. This real-time data is compared against a normative, age-matched database, with brain activity expressed as Z-scores, indicating how far each measurement deviates from the average. Unlike classical neurofeedback, which trains specific frequencies individually using predetermined thresholds, Z-Score neurofeedback offers comprehensive training based on multiple brain metrics. This allows for a more customized and adaptive protocol that targets overall brain regulation and balance. The result is often faster and offers more generalized improvements across cognitive, emotional, and behavioural domains. Active training time typically ranges from 30 to 60 minutes, depending on individual clinical needs. Each appointment is scheduled for one hour and 15 minutes to allow for thorough progress evaluation, setup, real-time protocol adjustments, client preparation and clean-up, and administrative tasks. By training the brain’s activity patterns across multiple channels in relation to normative data, Z-Score neurofeedback supports a precise and scientifically informed path toward improved brain function and well-being.
