Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
A treatment for trauma and PTSD that uses guided eye movements (or other forms of bilateral stimulation like tapping) to help the brain reprocess distressing memories. During a session, a therapist guides a patient to focus on a traumatic memory while engaging in eye movements, which helps to lessen the emotional impact of the memory, allowing the brain to process it and reduce associated distress.

En quoi ça consiste
Most of the hour is spent talking through what’s been happening, how you’ve been reacting, and what patterns keep showing up — your counsellor asks questions, reflects things back, and helps you put words to it — so you leave with a clearer sense of what came up and what to keep noticing between sessions.
