Massage therapy

Relaxation Massage

Relaxation massage consists of the use of smooth, gliding strokes. The primary purpose will be to help you relax, and the aesthetician will probably move at a slower pace and use light to moderate pressure. During a relaxation massage there is less emphasis on working out serious adhesions or knots in the muscle tissue and the aesthetician or practitioner won't push your pain limits in order to get the muscle to release. Sometimes people even fall asleep during a relaxation massage. There are still substantial benefits to a relaxation massage, including calming the nervous system, promoting a sense of well being, improving blood circulation and stimulating the body's lymphatic system, which carries away waste products from the body. Please be aware that we do not currently have RMT's and these massages will be performed by our aestheticians and are not claimable.

What it is

Most of this relaxation massage hour is spent face down or face up on the table while the therapist works in long, unhurried strokes over broad areas — back, shoulders, legs, arms, scalp — with steady pressure and fewer problem-solving pauses, and you leave having had a full-body session centred on settling your system rather than chasing one sore spot.
