DEXA - Full Body Composition Scan with Visceral Fat
A Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA) machine uses x-ray to analyze body composition in terms of fat, muscle mass, and resting metabolic rate. This can also analyze bone strength, or bone mineral density, making it different from other conventional body composition scales or devices.
Disclaimer:
Please note DEXA technology has a limited scanning field. In some cases, if a patient’s body width exceeds the scanning area, the software may be unable to generate visceral fat measurements. All other body composition metrics, including total body fat, lean mass, and bone mineral density, will still be recorded.
