In a follow-up manual osteopathy appointment, the practitioner typically begins by reviewing any changes in the patient’s condition since the initial consultation. This includes discussing the effectiveness of previous treatments and any new symptoms or concerns that may have arisen. The manual osteopath continues to use a holistic approach, assessing the musculoskeletal system and its relationship to overall health.
During the session, hands-on techniques such as stretching, joint mobilization, and soft tissue manipulation, cranial sacral and visceral techniques will be applied, building upon the previous treatment plan. The practitioner will also reinforce preventive care strategies and offer additional guidance on self-care practices, ensuring that the patient is actively engaged in their healing process. Together, the manual osteopath and patient will adjust the treatment plan as necessary to promote optimal wellness and mobility moving forward.
