Things to know before your Acupuncture appointment:
● PLEASE eat something prior to treatment, it is not recommend to get acupuncture on an empty stomach
● It is recommended to wear loose comfortable clothing
● If possible avoid coffee/tea before treatment
● When brushing your teeth in the morning, please don’t brush your tongue
● Please do not drink or take drugs prior to treatment (alcohol thins your blood and will cause you to bleed)
● Do take your medications as you regularly would
What to do after your Acupuncture treatment:
● Don’t forget to book your next treatment
● You can resume your daily activities
● You may feel more tired or relaxed
● Try not to eat a huge meal directly after treatment
● Avoid alcohol/drugs after appointment as stimulants and depressants can interfere with the body’s natural healing process
● Avoid strenuous or intense exercise afterwards, if you must exercise keep it light
● Stay hydrated and reduce refined sugars
● Increase protein intake, antioxidant rich foods and healthy fats
● If you have received cupping during your appointment, it is normal to have cupping marks and they will fade in a few days
clients are expected to check their insurance coverage before their appointment. If the portal is down which happens sometimes, clients are expected to pay and submit to their insurance themselves if this happens. If client is out of coverage and they come to an appointment they are expected to pay for their treatment, or pay the cancellation fee as they still have to pay for reserving the therapitst's time
