Cupping involves the application of specialized cups to the skin to create suction. This negative pressure promotes increased blood flow, supports lymphatic drainage, helps release fascial restrictions, and may reduce muscular tension. The treatment can be static (cups remain in place) or dynamic (cups moved across tissue), depending on therapeutic goals. Temporary skin discoloration (cupping marks) may occur as a normal response.
