In TCM, the human body has a flow of energy (Qi, pronounced ‘chi’) that flows along defined pathways through the body. Acuncture needles are inserted at strategic points along these pathways/meridians to support the flow and balance of Qi.

Most of the appointment is spent mapping out what’s going on in your body and choosing points, then resting with fine needles in place for a stretch — sometimes with heat, cups or electrical stimulation — and you leave with a sense of what was treated and whether more sessions make sense.
