Abbey Flinn

She completed both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Nursing at Dalhousie University and has worked in various primary care settings and mental health care units with patients of all ages.
Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Abbey grew up playing competitive hockey among other sports and continues to live an active lifestyle through golf, strength training, CrossFit, and time on the water. Having personally navigated multiple injuries — including four knee surgeries — she understands firsthand the physical and mental challenges of injury, rehabilitation, and recovery, and the importance of early intervention and long-term prevention.

Abbey’s clinical interests include preventative health, musculoskeletal concerns, mental health, and lifestyle-based care. Her work in mental health early in her career, shaped her holistic, compassionate approach to care and her focus on supporting both physical and psychological wellbeing.
As a Nurse Practitioner, Abbey will independently assess and diagnose symptoms, prescribe medications, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and, if necessary, make referrals to medical specialists, offering patients fast and efficient access to comprehensive primary care.
Abbey practices privately at Proactive Health & Performance, collaborating closely with physiotherapists, chiropractors, and other health professionals to support patients to achieve optimal health, recovery, and performance.
