The human body amazes me! This fascination of mine started while I was in high school, and it led me to pursue continuing education in health sciences. While receiving my Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Nipissing University, I took several courses that prepared me for my current role as an acupuncturist. There was one class in particular where I learned about health and healing in cultures from around the world. This is when I was first introduced to traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) acupuncture, and its benefits for so many health conditions.
After I graduated University in 2015, I took a year off to work, and figure out which path to take next. When I decided to go back to school, I came across an Acupuncture program being offered at Georgian College, and I applied! During the program I learned about this whole other side to healing. I fell in love with the way this medicine views the body. Its connection to nature and the universe. The patterns, cycles, and routines. The hands on approach to healing. All of it! After 8 semesters straight of TCM knowledge and clinical experience, I successfully passed my registration exams with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO) in May 2019, and became a Registered Acupuncturist!
