Hello, my name is Adriana. I am exited that you are interested in starting the counselling process. It takes a lot of courage. Determining who you will work with is an important decision so please take time to read my profile to see if we will be a good fit..
I have my Masters in Counseling Psychology and am a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta psychologists. I am passionate about empathetically empowering clients to heal and change so that they can live their lives to the fullest.
I believe that every person is valuable and therefore treats people with respect, unconditional positive regard, and compassion. I know that everyone is capable of change but understands that it is hard and takes courage, so she is patient and encouraging throughout the counselling process.
I honor the uniqueness of each individual, couple and family and collaborate with every client to develop a plan that will be effective and employ their strengths. This is possible because I use an integrative approach to counselling and draws from; Attachment theory, Emotional Focused therapy, Interpersonal neurobiology, Positive Psychology and mindfulness based practices.

Children’s Counselling Statement:
It can be very overwhelming and devastating when your children are struggling. I am very passionate about helping children and parents navigate these times. When working with children my first priority is developing a strong relationship with the child so they feel comfortable. I primarily use play, art and sand tray therapy when working with children these activities to help children process their internal experience and challenge their perceptions of their struggles. Through therapy the child will learn how connect with their authentic self, regulate themselves and have self-compassion.
