On going treatment after first assessment

Regular treatments throughout the different stages of pregnancy can reduce/eliminate common discomforts, reduce preterm labour, and improve birth outcomes. Your practitioner may shorten your appointment time based on your needs. Fees will be adjusted accordingly.

While we recommend starting treatments in your first trimester, we can work with you at any stage. A full history will be taken followed by a whole body assessment. Treatments in the first trimester can aid in prevention of common discomforts in later term. Treatments are gentle and safe.

Your first assessment with include a detailed history, physical and postural assessment, treatment, and continuing care options. Please inform us if this is an MVA/WCB claim. We appreciate you providing any medical imaging, reports, and medication lists for us to add to your records.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - BOOKING A NEWBORN - PLEASE ALSO ADD YOUR CHILD TO OUR WAITLIST AS WE MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO TREAT NEWBORNS AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE The bones and muscles of infants are very different from an adult's and even different from a child's. Our practitioners have extensive certification and experience in Pediatric Osteopathy, Infant Massage, and Child Development. Your first visit will be spent reviewing the birth history, development, and a full body assessment with treatment. Many infants can sleep through treatments as they are extremely gentle. Infants typically respond well and often only require a few treatments with short follow-ups throughout developmental milestones. Additional sessions will vary in length at the practitioner's discretion; fees are adjusted accordingly. We allow some built in time for settling babies, answering parent concerns, and of course feeding and changing if required. Parent or Guardian must remain present during assessments and treatments. When possible we encourage you to leave siblings with a second care provider. If this is not possible please inform us in advance .

First appointment will primarily focus on a full history and assessment followed by a treatment and plan. The muscle and bone development of children is different than adults. We treat according to development to ensure the safest treatment for your child. Most children require minimal treatments to achieve results.
