Alison Varga
AjouterAlison is a registered provisional psychologist who specializes in working with clients primarily struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief/loss, and addictions. In addition, Alison has received extensive training in trauma informed care, DBT, narrative therapy, polyvagal theory and numerous other client centered approaches. Most recently, Alison has received Perinatal Mental Health Certification. Her areas of focus include infertility, pregnancy and infant loss, anxiety during pregnancy, PTSD, postpartum depression, grief, and adjusting to life as a blended family.

In sessions with Alison, expect to feel supported by her level-headed, keep-it-real approach. Alison is here to validate, affirm, help reduce stress, and hear whatever it is that’s truly weighing on you during this stage. You will be heard, learn tangible strategies to navigate your challenges, your boundaries will be respected, and you can finally move through the difficult part of this chapter.

** Existing patients only upon therapist's approval ** After attending sessions at the clinic, Equine Assisted Therapy may be identified as a valuable therapeutic tool to help your journey toward mental wellness. All sessions are onsite at Alison's farm in Foothills, AB. In order to book this type of session, it will need to be a joint decision between therapist and client.

This service is offered as a way to help our clients at the clinic begin to understand their nervous system and how the state of yours can determine how well you heal and the quality of life you experience. This service is for those of us who: *experience chronic pain, stress or recurring injury *struggle with embodiment *suffer from mental health symptoms or health related illness - even if they're mild *have lingering symptoms of physical, emotional, relational, developmental or shock traumas This isn't therapy - we have an incredible therapist for that - but rather a unique way to begin to touch in to your body and understand it in a different light with a deeply holistic approach to your care. This is an appropriate service for adults, generally recommended for those 25+ yrs old, but Devan is willing to do complimentary Meet and Greets for those 18-25 if you feel this is right for you and fall within the younger age window.
