Allen Frankel
AjouterAllen Frankel began his training at the University of Toronto, after which he attended the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, for four years where he received a DPM degree, Doctor of Podiatric Medicine, in 1984.
Allen went on to complete a Surgical Residency program at Warminster General Hospital, near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he acquired his expertise in Laser as well as Minimal Incision Surgery (MIS). During this time, he also participated in the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University Sports Medicine Clinics (where the Philadelphia Flyers and 76ers are treated). Other prestigious titles Allen has received include his Associate Member status in the American Board of Podiatric Surgeons (ABPS) and the American College of Foot Surgeons (ACFAS). Allen has been a leading candidate in the field of minimal incision surgery for correction of bunions and hammertoes, but his extensive training in various procedures also allows him to perform open procedures as needed.

Once returning to the Toronto area, Allen founded Markham Podiatry in 1985 and had actively served the needs of this community for over 30+ years. During this time, Allen continued his advanced training, and helped bring surgical procedures and treatment protocols into the forefront of foot care in Ontario.
Allen also served for many years on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Podiatric Medical Association. Allen also completed a six-year term on Council at the Provincial College, of which among other things, he chaired the Disciplines Committee and presided as President of the College in his final year.
In his spare time, Allen is busy raising his two beautiful daughters and sailing to exotic locales around the world with his lovely wife Francine. When not on foreign soil, Allen still finds time to perfect his squash and basketball games on local courts.

Includes biomechanical assessment (weight bearing and non-weight bearing + gait analysis), Casting/3D Scanning for one pair of Custom Made Orthotics, fitting, review appointment, and adjustments within 3 months. Podiatric Surgeons focus on minimally invasive surgical techniques for more difficult and unresolved foot issues, or when osseous intervention is indicated. This appointment is for individuals who have attempted conservative treatment measures and are interested in surgical intervention.

Although not required, our Foot Surgeon prefers a referral from a Chiropodist, family physician, or allied health profressional ahead of a bone surgery consultation. This appointment is for individuals who have attempted conservative treatment measures and are interested in surgical intervention. This is not OHIP covered.
