Amanda has been fascinated by the way people move for most of her life, starting from when she was a young athlete in modern pentathlon. After years of competing nationally and internationally in fencing and shooting, she decided to turn her interest in the human body into a career. She completed her undergraduate degree in Science (Biology) and Psychology at the University of British Columbia, then went on to attain a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Toronto.
She has completed extensive post-graduate training in needling techniques and manual therapy. She has completed her Upper and Lower Quadrant Manual Therapy level 3 in pursuit of the Diploma of Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy Course as well as being both UBC Chan Gunn IMS certified and Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute certified. She is also trained in the Integrated Systems Model (Lee & Lee), Neural and Visceral manipulation and is a certified K-taping and Pelvic Floor therapist.
She has a keen interest in helping people manage their injuries and symptoms, returning them to their regular activities while minimizing risk of re-injury. Amanda enjoys treating people of all abilities and has experience treating a wide range of conditions such as repetitive overuse, arthritis, whiplash and sports injuries. In her free time she enjoys running, rock climbing, skiing, and cycling.
