Cranial Sacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on method that works with the body’s natural rhythms to promote balance and healing. Rooted in the work of Dr. John Upledger and refined over decades, CST focuses on the craniosacral system—the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that protect and nourish the brain and spinal cord. This therapy works on the premise that by releasing subtle restrictions in this system, your body can restore its natural state of ease and function. How a Cranial Sacral Therapy Session Works During a CST session, you remain fully clothed while lying comfortably on a treatment table in a quiet, private space. The practitioner uses an extremely light touch, often no heavier than a coin, to sense and gently adjust the rhythm of your craniosacral system. This delicate approach helps to release tension and restore fluidity to the body’s energy pathways. Sessions typically last between 60 minutes to 90 minutes, allowing ample time for the body to respond to the nurturing touch and shift into a state of deep relaxation. What to Expect After a Session Following a session, you might experience a profound sense of calm, clarity, or even relief from chronic tension. Some individuals report feeling slightly tired as their body continues to adjust and rebalance its internal rhythms, while others feel more energized and centered. To support the natural detoxification process that may occur as your body releases built-up tension, it’s beneficial to stay well-hydrated before and after your appointment. Cranial Sacral Therapy is a safe, non-invasive way to support your overall well-being by encouraging the body’s inherent healing capabilities. Please remember, however, that while CST can complement your wellness journey, it is not a replacement for conventional medical care. Always consult with a healthcare professional regarding any medical conditions or concerns. Keri has been practicing Cranial Sacral Therapy since 2023.
