A South Vancouver native, Amrit entered physio school with a vested interest in working in sports with athletes. However, soon after beginning her education she was drawn to the complexities of working with individuals with neurological disorders. She completed her physiotherapy degree in Manchester in 2007, and returned home to Vancouver to practice. Since returning she has amassed a wealth of experience practicing across the continuums of care including critical care, inpatient rehabilitation and community.
Through her experience working at GF Strong rehab centre, Amrit has gained invaluable experience working with individuals with neurological disorders including individuals post stroke, MS, spinal cord injury and others.
She is CAFCI certified in acupuncture, and a certified Gunn IMS practitioner. She has completed post professional training in, and continues to pursue an interest in craniosacral therapy, vestibular rehabilitation and visceral manipulation. She approaches her clients as collaborators in their care and views them through a holistic lens, as entities with interconnected physical, emotional and social and spiritual domains.
When not in the clinic you might find Amrit being passed by cyclists on her bike, out in one of the beautiful parks this city has to offer, or escaping in some YA fiction.
