Amy completed her Master of Science in Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University in 2019, following a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics and Biology from St. Francis Xavier University in 2016. Prior to becoming a physiotherapist, Amy worked as a kinesiologist, bringing valuable experience in movement science and rehabilitation.
Amy’s clinical background includes work in acute care, orthopedics, geriatrics, and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. These diverse experiences led her to discover her passion for pelvic health physiotherapy. She has since completed extensive post-graduate training in pelvic floor therapy, including the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse, dyspareunia, and male pelvic pain, as well as specialized training in pessary fitting, manual therapy techniques, and biofeedback for pelvic floor dysfunction.
She has also completed teacher training in Clinical Pilates with a focus on pelvic health, and incorporates corrective exercise, breathwork, and functional movement strategies into her treatment and group classes. Amy takes a biopsychosocial and trauma-informed approach, drawing on pain science education and holistic rehabilitation principles to support clients living with complex pelvic pain.
Amy is passionate about offering inclusive care and has a strong interest in supporting individuals with gastrointestinal and rectal conditions. She is committed to creating a safe, affirming, and open space for all, with a particular focus on gender diverse care. Her personal experience with pelvic health physiotherapy has shaped her empathetic, grounded approach, and she values the opportunity to build trust and empower her clients through education and connection.
Outside the clinic, you can find Amy cycling local trails, exploring Nova Scotia’s beaches, and enjoying nature and portrait photography.
