Andrea has been a dedicated part of the health and wellness of the Dartmouth community for over 25 years, working in private practice physiotherapy here since 1998. With a deep understanding of how your body works and a strong grasp of latest advances in clinical practice, Andrea works closely with each patient to find the root of a dysfunction. She creates tailored care plans to manage symptoms, fix problems and prevent recurrence. Whether you’re recovering from injury, managing chronic pain, returning to work or aiming to excel in your sport, Andrea is committed to helping you set and achieve your goals.
Andrea earned her Physiotherapy degree from Dalhousie University and went on to achieve a Diploma in Advanced Manipulative Therapy and then a Master of Clinical Science (Manipulative Therapy) from Western University in Ontario. She has continued to grow her skills through continuing education, professional collaboration and holding both leadership and Instructor/ Examiner roles at a national level. This experience has equipped Andrea with a comprehensive toolbox for assessing and treating a wide range of conditions. Above all, Andrea believes that listening and understanding your concerns and goals is the most important part of your time together.
Outside the clinic, Andrea enjoys being outdoors. She stays active with snowboarding, golf, running, and the gym as well as spending time with her dog and family – and is looking forward to picking up pickleball in the near future.

Our physiotherapy assessments are designed to identify the root cause of your pain, discomfort, or movement limitations. During your first session, a registered physiotherapist will take the time to understand your medical history, current concerns, lifestyle, and goals. A detailed physical examination will follow, which may include assessing posture, range of motion, muscle strength, joint mobility, movement patterns, and functional abilities. This thorough assessment allows us to pinpoint underlying issues—whether related to injury, overuse, poor biomechanics, or chronic conditions—and to create a personalized treatment plan. Our goal is not only to relieve symptoms but also to restore optimal function, prevent re-injury, and help you move with confidence in your daily life

Already met with a physiotherapist for an assessment? Let's get started on your healing journey! Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses acoustic sound waves to stimulate the body’s natural healing process. During your session, a physiotherapist will apply the shockwave device to the affected area to target damaged tissues, increase blood flow, and accelerate recovery. Treatment is typically quick, with each session lasting only a few minutes, and most clients experience progressive relief over a series of treatments. Shockwave therapy is commonly used for chronic tendon and soft tissue injuries such as plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, calcific shoulder tendinopathy, and Achilles tendon pain. It can help reduce pain, break down scar tissue, and restore mobility. Our goal is to provide an effective, evidence-based treatment option that supports faster healing and long-term recovery.
Already met with a physiotherapist for an assessment? Let's get started on your healing journey! Following your assessment, TMJ treatment sessions are customized to address your specific symptoms and underlying causes. Treatment may include gentle manual therapy to the jaw, neck, and surrounding muscles, exercises to improve jaw mobility and strength, posture correction, relaxation strategies, and education on habits that may contribute to TMJ pain (such as clenching or grinding). Your physiotherapist will also provide you with a home exercise program and self-management strategies to support lasting improvement between sessions. The goal of treatment is to reduce pain, restore normal jaw function, and help you eat, speak, and move comfortably in your daily life.
Experiencing jaw pain that is affecting your daily life? Our TMJ physiotherapy assessments focus on identifying the root causes of jaw pain, clicking, stiffness, or related symptoms such as headaches and neck discomfort. During your first visit, a registered physiotherapist will take a detailed history of your symptoms, lifestyle factors, and any past injuries or dental issues. A physical examination will follow, which may include assessing jaw movement, muscle tension, joint alignment, posture, and related neck or shoulder function. This comprehensive assessment allows us to understand the contributing factors to your TMJ concerns and create a personalized treatment plan. Our goal is to reduce pain, improve jaw function, and restore comfort in your daily activities such as eating, speaking, and yawning.
Already met with a physiotherapist for an assessment? Let's get started on your healing journey! Virtual physiotherapy can be a safe and effective option for many people. Through secure video visits, we can assess your movement, discuss your symptoms and history and guide you through exercises just as we would in the clinic. Research shows that for many condiitons, the most important part of physiotherapy is education, movement and exercise - all of which can be done remotely and monitored virtually. This approach also makes it easier to fit therapy into your schedule, reduces travel time and allows you to practice your exercises in your own space, helping you stay consistent and supported in your recovery. You can specifically show your therapist what's working or not working for you in your own home. You can avoid cancelations and delays in your recovery or exercise progressions related to the little things in life. Talk to your therapist about using a blended model of sessions in clinic and virtual!
