Angelique offers an acupuncture practice following a lengthy career as a Registered Midwife. She provided care for families during the childbearing continuum throughout British Columbia and internationally for many years. As she has now transferred her focus to Traditional Chinese medicine, she maintains a deep reverence for the complexity of the womb space - before, during and after the child bearing continuum. 45 minute cupping session begins with a brief assessment to understand the client's physical needs and concerns. Based on this assessment, an insertion of two acupuncture needles may be used to target areas of tension or discomfort. Following this, gentle Tuina massage techniques are applied to further loosen the muscles and prepare the body for cupping. Next, glass cups are applied to the skin and slid along the back, shoulders, or other targeted areas to create a vacuum effect that promotes circulation and relieves muscle tension.
