Her approach to counselling is to meet you where you are at, and to provide guidance, insight, and the skills to help you help yourself. She points out unhelpful thought patterns and teaches clients how to challenge their negative thoughts. She stresses the importance of taking care of yourself on a daily basis and engaging in self-care. She incorporates mindfulness-based approaches and somatic awareness into her sessions. Ashley is very warm, open-minded, and her counselling services offer a calming and comfortable environment for her clients.

She specializes in working with children and youth who exhibit moderate to severe mental health disorders. She has experience working with children and youth who are neurodiverse. When it comes to working with this population, Ashley approaches issues by considering the family as whole. This means working with their families to provide psychoeducation, therapy, and support.

In addition to working with children, and youth, she also works with adults to provide the same welcoming and safe environment with their treatment. She has experience helping adults struggling with mental health issues, navigating life transitions and relationship issues, and providing them with healthy coping tools to manage day to day stressors.

Areas in which Ashley has experience include, but is not limited to, ADHD, anxiety, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, depression, undiagnosed behavioral difficulties, and trauma. She has worked with clients from the Ministry of Child and Family Development, Crime Victim Assistance Programs, ICBC, Autism Funding, and First Nations Health Authority.
