Ben Adivi, Registered Physiotherapist
Doctor of Physiotherapy (Bond University, Australia)
Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (University of Victoria, Canada)
Ben is a Registered Physiotherapist with over 15 years of clinical experience practicing in Canada and Australia. Throughout his career, he has worked in private practice, hospitals, community rehabilitation, multidisciplinary healthcare teams, and home-based physiotherapy services, providing evidence-informed care for individuals with a wide range of musculoskeletal and medical conditions.
Ben earned his Doctor of Physiotherapy degree from Bond University in Australia after completing a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Victoria in Canada. His combined background in kinesiology and physiotherapy has provided him with a strong foundation in human movement, biomechanics, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and functional recovery.
Prior to joining JCJ Massage Therapy, Ben owned and operated his own physiotherapy practice in Australia while also working in both acute hospital and community healthcare settings. This diverse experience has enabled him to treat patients of all ages and activity levels, ranging from acute injuries and post-operative rehabilitation to chronic pain, mobility limitations, and age-related functional decline.
Throughout his career, Ben has worked closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, collaborating with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other allied health professionals to provide coordinated patient care. His hospital experience includes working with patients recovering from orthopaedic surgery, neurological conditions, respiratory and cardiac illnesses, oncology treatment, and a variety of medical and surgical conditions.
Ben has extensive experience assessing and treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including:
Neck and back pain
Shoulder, hip, knee and other joint conditions
Sports and recreational injuries
Muscle strains and ligament injuries
Chronic pain conditions
Post-operative rehabilitation
Balance and mobility concerns
Falls prevention
Functional movement limitations
Age-related mobility changes
Ben believes that successful rehabilitation begins with a thorough assessment and a clear understanding of each patient's individual goals. Rather than focusing only on the area of pain, he evaluates how the body moves as a whole to identify contributing factors that may be affecting function and recovery.
His treatment approach combines evidence-informed physiotherapy with hands-on manual therapy, individualized exercise prescription, movement retraining, and patient education. He works collaboratively with each patient to develop personalized treatment plans designed to improve mobility, reduce pain, restore function, and support long-term recovery.
Ben values clear communication and believes patients should understand both their condition and the purpose behind each stage of treatment. His goal is to help patients become active participants in their rehabilitation by providing practical education and strategies they can continue using outside the clinic.
Committed to lifelong learning, Ben regularly participates in continuing professional development to ensure his clinical practice reflects current evidence and best practices.
Ben is registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO) and holds an Independent Practice Certificate, allowing him to practice independently in Ontario. He also maintains professional liability insurance in accordance with provincial regulatory requirements.
